Day Kimball Hospital is now offering MRI for certain patients with Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices [CEIDs]. The Day Kimball Cardiology group; in conjunction with Diagnostic Imaging has developed specialty protocols and policies that enable us to perform MRI’s on most patients with pacemakers and implantable cardiac devices including implantable cardioverters/ defibrillators. Patients with cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators have, in the past been disadvantaged because of poor access to MRI scans. This may lead to late diagnosis and misdiagnosis, particularly for cancer and neurological diseases. New technology along with tested protocols now allows safe and timely MRI scanning for patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs).
MRI patients please review the MRI Patient Screening Form below. You will receive a phone call before your appointment and be asked these questions.
